How do quizzes work?
Quizzes will look exactly like the practice examples, except you will not be able to hear the answer. That would be cheating!
There are a couple of ways you could use the Quiz Feature with your program.
- Set up a 5 minute conference with each student and listen to them sing through the quiz for whatever level they are working on.
- Have them record the quiz when they are ready and email you the recording. A simple MP3 can created by using a number of freeware options including Garageband for Mac and Audacity for Windows.
Couldn’t they cheat by using a piano or other instrument to figure it out?
They sure could! For every method of testing a student, someone will figure out a way to cheat. I never worried about this too much. At the very least, they are training the ear and working on sight singing. By assigning a quiz, you’ll add another layer of accountability and you’re students will be working harder one way or another.
